Job Summary:
The Education & Professional Development Manager supports the execution and growth of USGIF’s academic and professional development programs. This role strengthens engagement across the GEOINT education pipeline—from high school through early career—by managing core education initiatives, supporting university partnerships, and delivering impactful student and tradecraft programming.
Working closely with the Director of Education & Professional Development, the Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of assigned education programs and helps advance USGIF’s mission by connecting education, workforce development, and national security priorities. The ideal candidate is organized, relationship-oriented, and mission-driven, with enthusiasm for the GEOINT and national security community and a strong interest in strengthening education pathways and workforce development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Education & Scholarship Programs
Support the administration and execution of the USGIF Scholarship Program, ensuring a transparent, efficient, and mission-aligned application and award process.
Support management of education-related contracts and Memorandums of Understanding.
Contribute to the evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement of academic engagement initiatives.
Academic & Accreditation Engagement
Coordinate with university partners participating in USGIF’s accreditation program.
Support the advancement and expansion of accredited academic programs through consistent engagement and collaboration.
Help develop opportunities that connect students, faculty, and institutions to the broader GEOINT community.
Student & K–12 Programming
Lead planning and execution of student-focused programming at the annual GEOINT Symposium.
Support the development of K–12 engagement initiatives that introduce students to GEOINT career pathways.
Serve as a liaison to student participants at select USGIF events, ensuring a positive, meaningful experience.
Professional Development & Tradecraft Programs
Coordinate assigned professional development sessions and tradecraft-focused programming aligned with USGIF’s education objectives.
Collaborate across internal teams to support marketing, registration, and on-site execution of programs.
Facilitate planning meetings, manage speaker coordination, and contribute to post-event reporting and evaluation.
Occasionally represent USGIF in external forums and community engagements.
Bachelor’s degree required; Geography, GIS, GEOINT, education, or related field preferred. Advanced degree a plus.
3–5 years of experience in program management, education administration, nonprofit operations, or a related field.
Familiarity with the geospatial intelligence community or higher education landscape preferred.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; GIS familiarity a plus.
