The Membership Specialist is responsible for owning the full member value - from first contact to ongoing engagement - ensuring every member receives a high-quality and, where possible, personalized experience. This role also ensures the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of member data, which is essential to delivering world-class services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the portfolio of offerings delivered to Members
Conduct research to uncover trends and insights to inform that portfolio and continually enhance Membership and Chapters.
Maintain the integrity of membership data and establish procedures to ensure complete and accurate reporting in NCMA database.
Partner with Marketing team to develop and execute campaigns to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and member retention.
Serve as (subject matter expert) for all inquires related to Membership and Community
Continuously review and refine internal operating procedures to work more effectively and efficiently in proving value to Members.
Serve as an iMIS expert, supporting membership and chapter reporting request; both internal and external.
Chapter support to include things such as: maintaining chapter leadership rosters and contact information (internally and website), Chapter leader operational support (annual reports, communications, event requests forms, etc.) website resources.
Support NCMA Awards and Chapter Leadership Programs.
Content Library ownership to include: coordinate full publication process of NCMA's library, coordinating timely delivery and accurate placement of content across platforms with internal teams and external contributors, and overseeing content development and design workflows with subject matter experts, editors, and vendors.
Work collaboratively across departments to support organization-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with marketing goals.

Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree or experience in a related field desired
3-7 years' experience in membership services, customer support, chapter relations or a related field is preferred.
Experience working with an association or not-for-profit organization, with personal experience working with volunteer leaders is preferred
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to make informed decisions, manage workload, and meet deadlines independently.
Strong project management skills and managing multiple projects simultaneously while using a project management system.
Ability and willingness to become familiar with contract management, the profession, and NCMA to command the respect of the organization's constituencies.
Excellent communications skills along with strong writing skills for business communication and reports.
Proficiency utilizing Microsoft such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other similar software associated throughout the enterprise
Positive customer service interaction and ability to work collaboratively
Attention to detail, organizational skills and proactivity
Work outside the typical work hours when necessary to meet assignments or project objectives.
Limited travel, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to travel 10-15%.
