POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Education Specialist supports the development, delivery, and evaluation of AAP educational programs and digital learning initiatives. This role manages the Virtual Campus, webinars, podcasts, and online learning activities, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and delivering high-value educational experiences for members.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the AAP Virtual Campus learning management system (LMS), ensuring educational products are accurately displayed and accessible.
Coordinate online webinars and modules including the Virtual Intro to PM&R and Road to Residency series, town halls, and podcasts, including scheduling, technology management, and content uploads.
Manage registration for the AAP Annual Meeting and for other meetings.
Staff liaison the Education Committee, creating agendas, setting up the meetings, writing minutes and tracking project progress.
Staff liaison to the Residency Fellowship Program Director (RFPD) Council, and the RFPD sub councils.
Staff liaison to the Medical Student Council (MCS).
Develop and manage evaluations for educational activities and generate CME and attendance certificates.
Report CME activities to the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) in a timely manner.
Monitor participation metrics, virtual campus revenue, and prepare usage reports for educational programs.
Collaborate with Communications to promote educational offerings.
Provide customer service support to learners and faculty.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
1-3 years experience within project management, education, or customer service/ administrative support.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Detailed oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and association environments preferred.

AAP currently serves over 3,000 members including physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) department chairs, program directors, residents and fellows, researchers, medical student educators, administrative directors, program coordinators, and others involved or interested in academic physiatry. The AAP has an official journal, the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, holds an Annual Meeting and various other meetings throughout the year, and leads a number of projects, programs, and activities to support and enhance academic physiatry.
