The Information Systems and Operations Analyst will bring a data-oriented perspective to assist in the design, development, upgrade, maintenance, and support of ADGA's proprietary software and related interfaces and business systems, including document management and reporting systems. They will serve as a conduit for organizational leadership, business, IT, and external industry partners to collaborate to ensure the support of ADGA's core mission and services through maintaining data integrity and establishing effective processes, documentation, and training. Additionally, the Analyst will work with all business areas to understand and capture high-level needs, deliver functional specifications, and develop best practice solutions. The Analyst will work with team members to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and systems issues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INFLUENCE
Assist in the administration of the proprietary software environment and related/integrated systems, managing configurations, user access, and updates.
Conduct in-depth analysis to identify opportunities for improving proprietary and related/integrated systems performance and functionality.
Support organizational application improvement/development projects to ensure the successful fulfillment of end-user requirements, accurate testing, training development, and quality implementations.
Design and implement technical and functional solutions, protocols, and SOPs that meet business and operational requirements.
Ensure data integrity, in accordance with organizational policy, and effective data sharing between partner platforms (CDCB, VGL, ADGAGENETICS).
Ensure system security, stability, and compliance with organizational IT policies.
Perform troubleshooting, issue support, and root cause analysis to resolve system issues efficiently.
Effectively develop and document detailed functional specifications, system process flows, logical and physical designs, use cases, and diagrams to translate user requirements into software development or package configurations, ensuring content is relevant to expected outcomes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SME) to deliver innovative system designs that optimize processes and workflows.
Work with the IT and development team and program users (as well as SME’s) to foster innovation and recommend cost-effective solutions for the organization.
Provide functional support, design, and develop new and modified functionality, reports, forms, and interface systems in support of various departments, including membership, registrations, performance programs, and shows.
Support IT budgeting in consultation with management, the Information Management Committee, and the ADGA Executive Committee.
Provide support and assist users with proprietary software and related/integrated system issues.
Provide training and technical support to internal users and other stakeholders.
Travel to the ADGA office as needed (estimated quarterly)
Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Training
4-year degree in Business/Information Systems/Information Technology (or satisfactory combination of education and experience)
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in SQL, business intelligence, and data warehousing required; preference for experience in non-profit, academic, or membership organizations
Animal Science background is a plus
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of system administration principles, including configuration management and user access controls.
Strong analytical skills and extremely detail oriented.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate technical and/or complex concepts into information meaningful to team members and/or business personnel.
Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving complex system functionality issues.
Proficiency in SQL and experience creating reports from relational databases.
Experience with data visualization / BI tools (Power BI preferred).
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
The American Dairy Goat Association was organized in 1904 to collect, record and preserve the pedigrees of dairy goats and to provide genetic, management and related services to dairy goat breeders.

To collect, record, and preserve the pedigrees of dairy goats by maintaining herd books and issuing certificates of registration and recordation of dairy goats;
To provide management, genetic, and other related services to members and the dairy goat industry including the supervision and publication of official milk production records of dairy goats and issuing certificates of production; and
The promotion and regulation of matters pertaining to the history, publicity, breeding, exhibition, and improvement of dairy goats.
