Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, highly energetic, and entrepreneurial manager to lead marketing efforts for the US Composting Council, enhancing its brand and position in the industry and environmental arenas, as well as related fields. The successful candidate will ensure that USCC and its brand are recognized across the US and ensure that USCC’s marketing of programs and products meets targeted revenue and growth goals.
This position designs priorities that are set in the overall strategic marketing plan for marketing and communications. The successful candidate will work with the Marketing Coordinator using data and metrics to implement the USCC’s organization-wide marketing plan, advising and collaborating with program staff and committees to design the marketing strategies for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Support all program managers in developing the overall annual marketing strategy
Collect, analyze, and present metrics to measure the success of marketing campaigns and tactics, including email effectiveness, audience reach, prospect conversions, membership retention, and recruitment
Lead the compliance, updating, and analysis of all USCC branding and,d through structured communication, ensure staff, committees, and partners understand and comply with corporate strategy
Ensure the timely delivery of all program and product marketing needs by maintaining a marketing calendar and guiding and assisting the junior marketing manager in achieving the deliverables
Writing leadership materials when required, such as speeches, PowerPoint, and columns
Coordinating USCC media presence, including an up-to-date national and local media list; curating a list of “go-to” media for positive coverage; and coordinating a regular schedule of press releases that highlight organizational achievements
Developing program metrics and targets such as organizational cost-per-member, costs of conversions for programs and products, detailed web statistics, and stats developed with program/product managers to evaluate marketing success and course changes needed
Design USCC’s conference and event presence with team input, from external messaging of the conference theme, impact, and internal messaging of USCC’s booth and “in-conference” marketing, including coordination of program/product efforts for congruity, booth feel, and messaging.
Design and direct a prospect and return strategy with the marketing coordinator for all programs and products, using data and goals to prioritize programs and products.
Manage the selection and development of corporate-branded items such as giveaways and co-sponsored items
Budget design and implementation in concert with committee, board, and executive priorities that deliver all marketing and membership activity within the agreed budget.
Ability to organize, monitor, and execute rollout of multiple marketing projects to meet deadlines, revenue goals, and messaging targets; and to adjust midstream when measurement indicates a course change is needed.
Continuous training in marketing data analysis; membership strategies and media relations strategies.

Ability to communicate effectively, focus on delivery to customers, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively, and demonstrate high integrity.

Experience with Adobe, Microsoft Office Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Constant Contact, and customer relationship management systems/software.
